MELT ADVICE
Follow these tips to safely enjoy your melts
-
NOT FOR CONSUMPTION. Do not eat.
-
CHECK IF YOUR BURNER IS SUITABLE FOR MELTS. Some burners are designed only for oils, not wax. Wax burners typically have a deeper dish and are recommended to have a distance of 10cm between the tealight and wax dish.
-
PLEASE EMPTY AND CLEAN BURNER BEFORE USING A DIFFERENT WAX MELT. This prevents contamination between two scents and their fragrance oils.
-
DO NOT OVERHEAT. Follow your burner's guidance on the size and strength of the tealight. More than one tealight will cause the wax to overheat. 2-hour or 4-hour tealights are recommended. Please do not use 8-hour tealights as they may overheat the wax. Use unscented tealights.
-
KEEP AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE OBJECTS, CHILDREN, PETS, OPEN WINDOWS, AND DRAFTY AREAS.
-
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BURNER UNSUPERVISED.
-
DO NOT MOVE WHILE LIT. Burner and wax may be hot and the hot wax may spill.
-
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER. If any water contaminates the melt, the heat from the hot wax will cause it to bubble and spit. Also, keep the wax free of foreign materials/objects.
-
MELT WAX DOES NOT EVAPORATE LIKE CANDLE WAX, ONLY THE FRAGRANCE DISSIPATES. Wait until the wax has cooled before removing. It should easily pop out of the burner's dish. If not, use a spoon as leverage.

BEESWAX CANDLE CARE
Follow these tips to safely enjoy your candles
-
NOT FOR CONSUMPTION. Do not eat.
-
KEEP AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE OBJECTS, CHILDREN, PETS, OPEN WINDOWS, AND DRAFTY AREAS.
-
PLACE CANDLES ON HEAT-PROOF SURFACES. This will reduce the risk of damage to tabletops or other surfaces.
-
TRIM YOUR WICKS TO 5mm BEFORE EVERY BURN. Keeping your wick trimmed prevents the candle from getting too hot. This helps provide an even burn that stops tunnelling.
-
DO NOT MOVE WHILE LIT. Wax may be hot & spill.
-
NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNATTENDED.
-
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER. If any water contaminates the candle, the heat from the hot wax will cause it to bubble and spit. Also, keep the wax free of foreign materials/objects.
-
FOLD THE EDGES OF YOUR PILLAR CANDLE INWARDS. Pillar candles are designed to not burn to the edges in order to prevent spillage. When the wax is soft and malleable after burning, please fold the edges of your pillar candle inwards towards the wick. This extends the life of your pillar candle.
-
DO NOT BURN FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS PER USE. This will ensure the wick will not soot from too much combustion build-up.
-
DO NOT BURN CANDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN. The candle is finished when 1/2" of wax remains at the bottom. Burning any lower risks damage to surfaces.
-
Beeswax pales as it oxidises. This is a 100% natural process.

CONTAINER CANDLE CARE
Follow these tips to safely enjoy your candles
-
TRIM YOUR WICKS TO 1/4" BEFORE EVERY BURN. Keeping your wick trimmed prevents the candle from getting too hot. This helps provide an even burn that stops tunnelling.
-
PLACE CANDLES ON HEAT-PROOF SURFACES. The bottom of some containers may become very hot and damage table tops or other surfaces. Failure to do so may also result in a fire risk.
-
NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNATTENDED.
-
WHEN YOU FIRST LIGHT YOUR CANDLE, PLEASE BURN FOR 2-3 HOURS. This is so the melt pool reaches the edges of the container and evens out, preventing tunnelling.
-
DO NOT BURN YOUR CANDLE FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS AT A TIME. This stops your candle from getting too hot and possibly breaking the container.
-
KEEP LIT CANDLES AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE OBJECTS, CHILDREN, PETS, OPEN WINDOWS, AND DRAFTY AREAS.
-
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER. If any liquid contaminates the candle, the heat from the hot wax will cause it to bubble and spit.
-
DO NOT TOUCH CONTAINER ONCE CANDLE IS LIT. The surface may be hot.
-
DO NOT BURN CANDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN. The candle is finished when 1/2" of wax remains at the bottom. Burning any lower risks glass cracking or shattering.

WHAT ARE MELTS?Wax melts are pieces of scented, wickless wax. Once melted in a wax burner, their fragrance is released, slowly filling the room.
-
HOW LONG DO MELTS LAST?A wax melt's fragrance can last anywhere between 5-10 hours. Due to so many variations with wax burner designs altering the temperature of the wax dish (eg, more open designs letting more heat escape), it is impossible to give an exact estimate of when the fragrance will burn off completely.
-
CAN I USE MY MELTS MORE THAN ONCE?Yes! You can use your wax melts until all the fragrance has evaporated and the wax no longer smells
-
WHY IS THERE STILL WAX LEFT IN MY BURNER?Melt wax does not evaporate like candle wax. This is because its purpose is to release fragrance into the air, not to burn as fuel for a flame. If the fragrance from the melted wax in your burner has been spent, then remove the leftover wax and dispose of it. You can do this by either using a spoon as leverage to pop the cooled wax out of the burner's dish, or by melting the wax slightly so it slides out of the burner dish. Once cleaned, your burner is ready for another wax melt!
-
CAN I USE A SCENTSY BURNER FOR MY MELTS?Yes. Our melts have been tested in Scentsy burners and do melt and release our amazing fragrances. However, it is important to bear in mind that Scentsy burners may take longer or struggle to reach the temperature needed for soy melts. Scentsy burners and Scentsy melts are typically made to be compatible with each other, so the melting point of Scentsy melts are lower.
-
WHAT'S THE BEST SIZE FOR A WAX MELT BURNER/MELTER?Around 10cm between the tealight and burner dish is the best height to ensure the wax doesn't overheat. Overheated wax burns the fragrance off faster and is be prone to spitting/smoking. Please bear in mind different burner designs can alter the amount of heat getting to your burner dish. More open designs will let more heat escape and more closed-up designs will keep the heat in. Due to the sheer amount of different burners, the best advice I can give is to keep an eye on your burner and to not use for longer than 4 hours at a time.

WHERE ARE YOUR CANDLES?They're coming! Right now we're perfecting our recipe to make sure they're as safe and beautiful as possible.
-
WHERE DOES CANDLE WAX GO WHEN IT'S BURNING?Candle wax is used as fuel for the flame and once vaporised, it burns with the oxygen in the air into water vapour and carbon dioxide. Not only does it literally vanish into thin air, but this process takes place very close to the candle flame. If you can see white smoke emitting from the candle then that will be the fragrance being released into the air. Black soot usually appears when the candle has been wicked incorrectly or not much attention has been paid to the combustion purpose. If you see black soot, blow out the candle and contact the seller.
-
WHAT IS TUNNELLING?Tunnelling is when the wick burns straight down the middle of the candle without creating a full wax melt pool that reaches the sides of the container. This is a common problem for mass-produced candles where a wick too small in diameter has been used, leading to the melt pool being unable to reach the sides. Another cause could be the candle not having a long enough burn time after it is first lit. It is important to let the melt pool reach the edges of the container on the first burn, which is typically achieved after 2 or 3 hours.
-
IF I DON'T USE MY CANDLES RIGHT AWAY, HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THEM STORED FOR?"If stored in a cool, dark place, scented candles can last for years.
-
WHEN DO YOU POST ORDERS?If your order is placed at the weekend, on a bank holiday, or after 3 pm, it will processed and sent out the next working day.

WHY DO YOU USE MICA AND BOTANICLES IN YOUR MELTS BUT NOT CANDLES?The simple answer is due to the wicks. Mica can clog up the wicks, affecting the way the candle burns and muting the flame - making it more prone to tunneling. As for botanicles such as small rose buds or pieces of petals, these can be extremely flammable and catch fire from the lit wick, turning the candle into a huge fire risk. Even the smallest chance of this happening is just not worth the risk. Using dye or wax melts as decoration is a much safer option for candles. Since wax melts are kept away from a wick/flame, mica and botanicles are perfectly safe and make a very pretty addition.
